How do I Join?

Mensa welcomes applications for membership from everyone - irrespective of age, gender, nationality, race, creed, profession, education, social or financial standing.

All you have to do is show us that you have an IQ within the top 2% of the population.

We will accept the results of most certified IQ tests. But, If you do not know your IQ, we also run regular test sessions in most towns and cities throughout the UK where you can have your IQ tested for a nominal fee. Places are limited at these sessions, so you should pre-book with our head office in Wolverhampton, by either:

calling Helen on 01902 772771,

sending an email to bookatest@mensa.org.uk, or you can:

download the booking form, with a list of test dates & locations

If you know someone else who is curious about their IQ, we will even test both of you during the same session for a single fee.

If you are a little unsure as to how you may fair in an IQ test, or it is a long time since you took any sort of test or exam, and would prefer some practice, you can:

  • send for our no-obligation, home-test (This is sent to you for free, although if you wish us to mark your test and tell you the results there is a small charge).

  • or try the fun work-outs on the web at www.mensa.org.uk/mensa/puzzles

NB - The home test is only an indicator of how you might perform in a formal test. As the home test is unsupervised it is not a formal IQ test and cannot qualify anyone to join Mensa. Only the results of a properly conducted, supervised test are acceptable as evidence of qualification for membership of Mensa.

To read more about how to join, including how to order a home test, visit this page at the British Mensa website.
