Scriptshop is a member-run organisation that promotes new writing for stage, screen & radio - by bringing writers and actors together, and helping to develop the skills of each.
The group is based in Leigh, and draws its members from across the Northwest.
At the regular Wednesday evening meetings, writers bring along scripts - and after an hour of casting & rehearsal, the pieces are presented to the group and discussed.
Some writers bring fresh pieces each week, while others prefer to work on longer scripts - showing extracts each session. This brings the scripted dialogue to life, so the writer can see its dramatic potential. Meanwhile, actors gain valuable sight-reading experience and get to play a wide range of characters.
Scriptshop is always happy to welcome new members - both writers and actors - who wish to join the friendly mix
The group meets every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm (except 3rd Wednesday of the month) in the Link Centre, Charles Street, Leigh, Lancashire.
